I like to "go."  Shop, hike, walk, tour.  I was inspired a few years back by the Instagram hashtag #fromwhereistand, and submitted a few of my own.  I decided to compile them into a collection (which makes my organizational OCD happy!)

Few people pay attention to where they are standing.  As a photographer, I tend to look around for things that are unusual (cause I like to be different like that).  I also tend to get wrapped up in what I'm touring or shopping for or walking on, and forget to look down!  So I don't have as many as I'd like.  But I plan on expanding it!

This grid of photos includes unusual weather, vintage finds, mountain and swamp hiking, and domestic life with pets.  :)  Enjoy!

This is huge news for us in North Carolina...we get this much snow only about every 10 years!  With this storm (unlike the one two weeks ago), we got snow, then sleet, then freezing rain, then sleet again, then snow again!

You can view these larger by clicking them or you can see several of them on my Flickr page.

The Husband has developed into quite the cook!  (It was either that or starve.  Go figure.)  Anyone who can cook fried chicken almost as good as my mama's...on the first try...is an expert in my book!

When my sister found this out, she gave him several culinary-related items for Christmas.  (BAMBOO HANDS!!! Who couldn't use a set of those?  Maybe not for their intended purpose, but who could pass up something that fun??)  Among the items was a couple of different types of pasta.  For those of you that actually understand this, the pasta was Fusilli Lunghi Paesani.   I have heard of fusilli, and "lunghi" might mean "long"??  Don't ask me what Paesani means.  LOL.

So we embarked upon our Pasta Adventure yesterday and let me tell you, it was a rousing success!  Hey, any meal that gets me to eat green vegetables is a success, my friend!

I only just found out about 6 months ago that I actually like asparagus.  I also found out that, like most green vegetables, I do NOT like it overdone.  Crunchy, please!!

The recipe is really easy - I actually stole it from my expert-chef-cousin (who probably stole it from somewhere else, lol!) and I did my own riff on it by adding bacon.  Bacon makes everything better, you know.

Bacon.  Quite possibly the world's most perfect food.

You can do it the fancy way and make the sauce from scratch, but I bought mine in a jar.  (GASP!)  It's just pasta, cream sauce/alfredo, bacon, and asparagus.  And it tasted as good as it looks!

YUM.  Say it with me.  YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Don't you think my sister did a good job this Christmas?   ;)  Thanks for following us on our pasta adventure!  :)
